About LeiLani

Jazz Artist – Leilani

With a voice reminiscent of Sarah Vaughn and Cassandra Wilson, Leilani’s style is simply unique. While her vocal abilities range from soprano to tenor, she adds jazzy flair to her inspirational repertoire, giving her a sound of her own. Leilani has shared the stage with the renowned Eric Marienthal, as the opening artist at the March Field Jazz Festival. Leilani has provided vocals in several recording sessions, singing tenor and Lead vocalist on two selections with Nightfire, a gospel jazz ensemble, and later recording “You’ve Been There” on the group’s debut CD, “Pillar of Fire”. Leilani’s class act has also been experienced by theater audiences as the opening vocalist for the play, ”No More Drama”, “Momma, There’s An African in the Attic”, and she has paid tribute to the late Billie Holiday, performing one of her classic songs, ”You Don’t Know What Love Is” in the civil rights historical stage play, “The Meeting”. Leilani’s endurance through challenges and musical expression as a solo artist for weddings, community events, banquets and charitable affairs has finally paid off. The door has now been opened for Leilani’s debut as a solo jazz recording artist, with her new CD, "Desires Accomplished....Sweet to the Soul". Leilani exercised her gift as a songwriter on her debut CD by penning several songs on the project. Her stage presence is that of a sassy veteran, while her sound is as strong and smooth as a horn section. Leilani, the premiere jazz artist, is here!
